PRIDE Reflections

LGBT Pride season is here, and it’s unfortunately a somber time to celebrate, with what happened in Orlando at the Pulse nightclub recently. The shootings really hit me hard and I felt I needed to reach out to the victims by organizing a fundraiser that also served as an LGBT Pride celebration with 9 DJs all playing for donations instead of tips. It all took place at my club Soundproof, and it was a big success, even getting a mention for some time on the Firestorm login screen, thank you to the Firestorm team for that, and we managed to raise $400 USD total which will be donated by me into the GoFundMe account of Equality Florida’s Pulse Victims Fund!

Go here to check that out HERE and donate if you can.

As I sit back and reflect the day after my big event, I want to give my thanks to all my friends in SL and RL and my family for being supportive of who I am. I’ve been open about my bisexuality since I was in my early teens, and although I’ve gone through my fair share of bullying about it from my peers in high school and elsewhere, I remain proud to be true to myself, never ashamed.

I hope everyone can stay that way in spite of all the dark times we’re facing now, have a safe, thoughtful, loving and happy Pride, no matter your orientation or gender identity.
